Naranjargal Khashkhuu

Naranjargal Khashkhuu is a former broadcast journalist and one of the founders of Globe International Center (GIC), a Mongolian non-government organization. She has a wide experience in advocacy and lobbying and played a leading role in passages of the Law on information Transparency and Right to Information and the Law on Public Radio and TV. She has conducted numerous trainings and has spoken/lectured of journalism as well as has on the right to information, direct participation, government transparency, principles of good governance, monitoring, anti-corruption, etc. She has been working as project leader of over 100 projects, namely projects on the public empowerment, promotion of transparency and integrity, and anti-corruption legislation advocacy etc. She has worked as team leader of more than 40 researches/studies/ carried out by Globe International Center.

Narnjargal has been a panelist and presented in several international conferences among others on good governance and role of media. She has also served as a consultant for various international and national advocacies including working with the International Media Monitoring Team during the Mongolian parliamentary elections, a member of the advocacy group in drafting Law on Domestic Violence, law on public radio and TV and a consultant of the civil society index for CEDAW (Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination Against Women), among others.

Naranjargal is also an award-winning playwright and she is a member of the Artistic Board of the State Drama Theatre. She has been lecturing in the Mongolian State University, University of Humanities, Press Institute and Institute of Radio and Television and authored textbook on television journalism. She had been an Executive Committee member of the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) in 1998-2007.
