Randolf S David Professor Emeritus of Sociology, University of the Philippines
Randolf S. David is professor emeritus of sociology at the University of the Philippines where he teaches courses on modernity, politics, and social theory.
He started a second career in the media in the wake of the 1986 people power revolution in the Philippines, hosting a public affairs talk show on television from 1986 to 2003. He has, since 1995, also been writing a column titled "Public Lives” for the Philippine Daily Inquirer. Recognized as one of the country's public intellectuals, he has received numerous awards and recognition for his work in the mass media and education.
